Forging Connections
PCTM 2019 Presentations with Web Sketchpad

The SSS Theorem: Don’t Assume It, Prove It!

SSS is traditionally a postulate. By following CCSS and defining congruence via transformations, students can prove it. We’ll use Web Sketchpad tools to superpose one triangle on another, and capture the construction steps to create a proof of SSS. This and related lessons are freely available on the Web.

Reconnecting Geometry and Algebra

If you have the honor of teaching algebra or geometry and want to strengthen your students' understandings of critical mathematical concepts related to functions, thus better preparing them for precalc and calculus, this session’s for you. We’ll explore a series of lessons designed to unlock surprising geometry/algebra connections.
